Around Church

Seems as though we are constantly busy at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist church. Our 'to do' is always growing, and the Lord is blessing at every turn!
Take a look around and see the fun we have together fellowshipping and even when we are working, and check out all the amazing blessings we have been blessed with!

Father's Day 2017

Had a lovely afternoon at church with Abigail, making new flower arrangements and decorations to decorate Fellowship Hall and the Sanctuary for Easter Sunday, and spring!









Next we got the children's SS room ready with the felt board and crafts they made the week before!

Fellowship Hall got a face-lift in January of 2017!
We had some wonderful volunteers for the labor and Sherwin-Williams was kind enough to give us the paint at half price! The pictures don't do it justice, it really looks nice!
BIG THANK YOU to all the members who came and got Fellowship Hall ready for the painters and who put it back together before services on Sunday!

Christmas party 2016
Everyone had so much fun at our small Christmas party! Lunch, fellowship, opening gifts!
We all took a sleigh ride together, it was so much fun!
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - in all of our fun and festivities, let us not loose sight, let us not take our eyes off Christ, without whom, there would be no hope.

We hosted our first community Thanksgiving Day lunch in 2017.
It was a lot of fun, and the Lord blessed in so many ways. We got to meet a lot of new people and, hopefully, made several new friends in the process.
Our members really stepped up, and jumped right in preparing food, cleaning the church, making decorations and getting the word out about our lunch, big THANK YOU to each and every one of them for all of the hard work and sacrifices they made to make this happen.
We were also blessed with the presence of a missionary, Terry, and his lovely wife Lisa. They too helped with the last minute stuff and joined us on Thanksgiving day for fellowship and lunch, they were such a blessing to have.
We made a "Thankful Tree" for everyone to write their blessings on!



 
Food preparation took several days of a lot of hard work, but was so much fun, and so very worth it!
 

 

Our sign all lit up and letting everyone who drives down Grand Ave we were hosting a community meal!

Look at ALL that food!
When we first started we weren't sure if we'd have enough! But God took a little and make it into a lot! We even had TWO fully smoked hams donated by a very kind stranger!
 
 
 
Thanksgiving eve everyone met at the church, on accident, lol, we had such an amazing fellowship complete with songs and new friends!
Thanksgiving day brought even more fun, songs and more new friends!

Here at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church we love children, all children, and we strive to make the nursery and Sunday school rooms fun, stimulating, warm and inviting. We aren't quiet done with all the work we plan to do, but we've had a lot of fun painting this mural on the nursery wall! We completed the mural in the summer of 2016

Our fence was completed in Dec '16/Jan 17!
A couple of super nice young men VOLUNTEERED to stretch the fence for us!!! God is so good!
